My rabbit recently came down with an upper respiratory disease (trying to take care of that). But now im worried about my parrotlet, Fiji. Is it possible for me to accidently transfer the disease to her????
how nice to see another bunny owner one of ours had that and came through fine as a baby -- i'm sure yours will do the same. in the meantime, i suggest checking out bunspace.com it's an incredible community!
our breeder that Ellie came from said when we're sick to not handle her because we could pass along illness...but i'm not sure about from rabbit to human to birdie.
There are many illnesses that can transfer from one species of animal to another. To be safe I'd just make sure you wash your hands after handling your babies and use a towel to keep anything off your clothes from the bunny & you should be fine.
Pretend its the flu & use the same precautions you'd use to make sure you & your friends/family/children don't catch it! It helps if you have that mindset =)
