I've had budgies, lovebirds and a parrotlet (my current bird). Looking at my experience, my lovebirds (who were all females) were more intelligent and more aggressive than my parrotlet, and much noisier, but they were much less responsive to music and hand-based rithms than he is (he responds to different hand claps by chirping the rithm back at me; the lovebirds would just stare). Also because they were all females, they were constantly cutting paper to make nests, which my male parrotlet never does. I was wondering if those of you that have female parrotlets find that they are more aggressive than the male of the species or is that a Lovebird trait? With the LBs the females would take turns mounting each other, depending who ever was dominant at the time. Is this the same with female parrotlets?
