I noticed on a few of the people on the forums mention something like "green split to blue" as a parrotlet mutation.

I'm really dumb on mutations, so all I really know is green, yellow, blue, etc.
What does this split mean?

It means that the "green" parrotlet carries a color gene.

Let's say Mom was visual blue and dad was normal green and carried the blue gene.
The babies would turn out some visually blue and some green with the blue gene. The green split to blue parrotlets can pass the gene on, even though you wouldn't be able to look at them and know.

Does this make some sense?

Oooh, that's really cool!

So it only really applies if you plan on breeding them?
Wow thanks! :D
