Pugsley's latest thing is learning to mimic from listening to other parrotlets on YouTube. I started playing videos for him twice a day. In just a few days he has learned, " Feed the bird" "Tickle, tickle, tickle" and "Good bird". It is so cute how he takes his lessons so seriously. This is a great way to teach your bird to mimic. I have been trying to get him to say, "Tickle, tickle, tickle" for months with no luck. And Milo had him saying it in no time. Here is Pugsle watching and listening to Milo. Thanks Milo!

Yes, females do have the ability to talk. Here is an old thread I posted about my previous bird Cleopatra. Females just aren't as proficient as the males. There is an explanation why in the thread. If I were you, I would try repeating words and short sentences over and over to Harry while she is in her cage. Speak in a soft voice. You never know! She may surprise you! They can talk - it is just up to Harry if she wants to.

Wow, Lil!!! Pip can say 27 words and phrases? That is awesome!!! (y) Saying sweet baby as he is under your chin? Awww! That is too sweet! 💗 I think Pugsley is up to 9 words and phrases so far. He just learned "Your" "He's" and "Such" a good boy. But my favorite thing is when he is giving me a kiss on the nose or cheek, a lot of times he will make kissy sounds as he is doing it. I just love that. I got him listening more to Koolaid. :) What a clever little guy Koolaid was. So sad he is gone. Yesterday, I was playing one of his video's - His owner threw a rolled up tissue, and as Koolaid was running after it, Pugsley runs across my keyboard (the tissue looked like it is heading towards us), and taps the computer screen to catch it. Silly bird! lol

Just an update on how Pugsley’s lessons are going. Well, the lessons were going great until he started yelling nonstop while Milo and Koolaid's videos were playing! He started walking around in circles and acting all annoyed like he hated them. What the heck caused that? Lol So, the following day, I tried playing Milo and Koolaid again (different videos from before) and the same thing happened - A pissed off bird. Then I decided to play a different bird video - one he had never heard before to see if that would make a difference. I think this birds name is Ditty. And guess what? Pugsley is back to his studious ways again. Sitting calmy and listening contentedly. Lol So I have been playing Ditty’s video for about 4-5 days and everything is fine. (So far). Yesterday, I got curious and decided to try Milo’s video again to see what would happen. Everything was fine for about 15 seconds and then he started yelling again. I then tried Koolaid and Pugsley had a conniption fit over him, too. Just proves how good they are identifying other birds sounds. He recognized both of them. So I am afraid poor Milo and Koolaid are history as far as Pugsley is concerned. So, why does he not want to listen to them anymore? Is he bored of listening to the same birds over and over again or does he think he has learned all he wants from them? Boy, we have interesting (and demanding) birds! lol

By the way, Pugsley has learned two new things. Kiss Kiss Kiss and Gimme a kiss!😗
