I was never able to hand tame Willie. He would bite then I would give up! I’m trying again but his fear of hands is big! I’d put my hand out flat and hold a piece of millet spray on the back of my hand on the edge of the top of his cage. He’ll step on my hand to eat the millet spray a couple times then he’ll bite my hand. I walk away from him and out of the room for a couple minutes then come back in to start again but it doesn’t bother him that I leave the room after he bites me. He doesn’t understand gentle beak to much either.

They are biters, so you have to expect it but also you need patience. Don't give up because then he'll think 'if bite her she will go away' and he learns this behaviour. The only way he will get used to hands is if you keep offering for him to step up or offer treats. It took me 3 or 4 months for my Dodi to even step up onto my finger, it's always worth it in the end. Just do your best to dodge the bites if your fingers aren't hardened to the nips yet.
