You know when your little one scratches / wipes his beak and face on a branch or you. Well guess what. That action has a name. It is called feaking and was given to us by falconers.

Isn't that feaking cool?

I have always known it was for cleaning their beak. Also for shaping their beak. Even for marking territory and part of a mating ritual. I just did not know it had a name. Now I do. Feaking.

Monty wipes his beak on his perch when he is being polite and waiting for us to open the cage. Maybe it's an annoyed "let me the eff out" feaking. 😂 Thanks for the article, learnt something new!
