Let me start with: Benny is a super nice bird!
I noticed there is a little bit blue under the wings right up by the shoulder. It is not the super dark blue, but definitely blue and perhaps it is lighter because Benny is grey? So, until this bird lays an egg, I will refer to it as a boy. 😜
Food: breeder's seed mix, Goldenfeast petite legume, and Tops pellets are in the cage at all times. A little bit millet and a bowl of bird chop are offered daily and the chop is his absolute favourite. Below: millet in a coffee filter.
Play: Benny loves playing with toys. He makes me laugh because he can get so excited when playing. He recently started to play fetch the ball with me.
Bathing: In Benny's opinion, the bird bath is only for eating his chop.
If I put water in it (even water with salad leaves), Benny doesn't care instead he takes a bath in his 5oz water bowl to get the head feathers wet.
He likes coming with me in the shower, the humidity must feel good on the skin. Sometimes I am allowed to splash a little.
Molt: He is definitely molting and trusts me to gentle open the head pin feathers.
I don't know how he can tell 8 pm bedtime, but he knows and he tells me when it is time to cover the cage. I also believe I can hear him say "tickle tickle".
