These are Pin feathers. They are new feathers coming in. They are perfectly normal. Most birds like them preened so it is a good opportunity to bond with scritches. Be careful of dark ones. They are new and very sensitive so messing with them usually get you bitten.
He seems to be sprouting more pins daily. I don’t know when/if he has molted before because we found him, so no prior health history. He has been extra cranky this week. I’m still having trouble getting him to try new foods. He seems to only want to eat seed and millet🤷🏼♀️
