Parrotlet Mothering Instincts??

My conure breeder sent me a video of the babies being hand fed. I am expecting to get one of these (if it is a female.) The very interesting thing, though, is, I had the volume turned up on the computer, and Kiwi could hear the baby birds chirping, as they were being fed. Kiwi started to chirp very loudly, and seemed to have a reaction to this, which I did not expect. After all, these are conure babies... not parrotlet babies. I have heard Kiwi become interested like this, when I play videos of other parrotlets making noise... but baby conures being fed? Took me by surprise. Is this normal for a parrotlet to react to any other type of hungry, baby bird noise?

Bryan will become famous soon enough

My Pip reacted nicely to a gouldian finch video I was watching today when normally he goes nuts and wants it shut off. I think with him it was the lady talking that he liked but he just sit there and watched the whole video with me. She reacts to her birds and kind of narrates them and will talk to them as she is filming. It is one of my favorite channels to watch about finch.. (will link below)

I am not sure but maybe Kiwi was around baby conures when she was at the breeders before you got her. I often wonder how Pip was raised and how many kinds of birds he was around before he got here. I know he was at the pet shop for a few days but I have no idea on his early life.

Thumbs up

Kiwi may not know the difference in other birds. Both Bogie and Ricochet reacted to baby birds and adult bird sounds when I had You Tube on.

My wife and I were watching a video on Australian Budgies. They were in a flock of 100,000!!!! and they all came in for a landing at a lake to get a drink of water. Boy, were they noisy!

Bogie went nuts when they all took off! I had the surround sound on and WHOOSH! The birds took off and Bogie started ranting and raving..

Kiwi WAS around conures. I remember seeing conures there when I picked her up.
