Does your parrotlet enjoy music??

It would appear that Squirtles seriously loves soft jazz and gentle ballads! It's just as well ... I draw the line at metal and any cacophony of loud jarring sounds.

He seems to want to nod off when I sing soft lullabies to him and hum (humming gets his head on my cheek LOL). He likes "Strangers in the Night LOL My sister tried it and it has the same effect on him.

Has anyone else had this with their bird?

Pip hates music he is sensitive to sound though. I watch a lot of youtube during the day and if I get the volume up to high he lets me know. When he was young he started attacking me and biting until I figured out it was the volume of the videos and music he was upset about. I worked with him and we figured out a sound level that works for both of us and he has been fine ever since.

Oh, yes! My bird loves music. All kinds. Strangers in the Night?? I'd love to be a fly on the wall to hear that. lol I sing to my bird all the time. I like to change the lyrics so they are bird/Cleopatra related. Like "Old MacDonald has a farm. Ee i ee I o! And on this farm he had a bird..." No complaints from the neighbors so that is good.

Ooooh same Anya! LOL

Last night, in a very soft almost whispery sing song voice, I told Squirt the story of Black Beauty. I swear, he popped his head upwards and closed his eyes - like I was reading him a bedtime story. My sister was laughing herself silly.

When Tumi was a baby, I wrote him his own song, and he loves when I sing it to him. It is to the tune of "I'm a little teapot."

I'm a little Tumi short and sweet
Come a little closer and hear me tweet
When I get all happy I will play
UPsidedown I'll make your day.

I've added in a "chirpchirpchirp" after the tweet, and he sings along to that part. He definitely enjoys when I sing or talk to him.

BTW, his name is pronounced two-me.

I LOVE it.

May I use it please (substituting Squirtles where Tumi is)

David Miller is a jewel in the roughDavid Miller is a jewel in the roughDavid Miller is a jewel in the rough

Thumbs up

When I had Bogie, he loved to fly onto my wrist to listen to me play piano. I found him to have a voice in the key of D Major. All I had to do was play a D Major chord on the piano and he would fly onto my wrist and start chirping and singing! He loved for me to play " Tiny Dancer " on the piano (sung by Elton John) and " Can you feel the Love Tonight? " on the piano ( also sung by Elton John ) .

Ricochet was in the same key! But I hadn't determined what songs on piano he liked. He passed away too soon.

Birds are very musical. They are the original musicians!

I'll be telling Squirt the story of Cinderella later today and will get my sister to film, especially where he starts nodding off. It's hilarious to me - it's just like a bedtime story routine for a small child
