We seemed to have gotten to the face climbing part of the relationship now.

LOL! I remember that part - Tumi was a bit of a handful until he figured out that hair was okay to grab with his beak and lips were not. If you don't wear glasses, a pair of sacrificial glasses might save your eyes when the eyelash exploration begins. ENJOY HAVING A BABY BIRD! It is an experience!

He is our first time with a baby bird. I so underestimated how much our rehomes already knew. We had to teach them a lot and unteach them even more but compared to a baby they were geniuses. This guy is dumb as a box of rocks, but he is learning quickly.

That is the perfect description of a baby bird - dumb as a box of rocks! Hehe! And they figure everything out by putting it in to their beaks just like human babies. Does he need flight training? If so, I HIGHLY recommend using a bed as the crash pad, because baby bird crashes can be pretty amazing as they figure out that they have these things called wings. At least you won't be surprised when he develops into the evil genius and starts ruling your house. I think the baby bird phase is to lure us in to complacency...

AnimalKaperz is on a distinguished road

I saw someone say owning a (large) parrot was like having a toddler running around with a pair of scissors. I think it applies to parrotlets who dont *know* they're little LOL

The way I explain Parrotlets to people who don't know parrots well and that size isn't everything is as follows:

"You know that big green parrot, the Amazon? Well, someone took a shrink-ray to an Amazon and forgot to tell the bird. That's a parrotlet."
