NG--She is ambidextrous!(uses both left and right). You have a very talented birdie on your hands. Glad to hear from you!

Greeting from the birds and the old lady

Hi,
Casper, Luke and Rosie all say Hi. The birds are doing great.
I'm sorry I have not been posting lately but I had hip replacement
surgery a couple of months ago. Doing better now.

David hope you are feeling better and say Hi to Ricochet.

Vicki and I were talking the other day and almost gave you a call to see how things were going. I hope you recover well from your operation! We wish we could see all your ' gang '. Ricochet got a very good wellness check recently. The big bugger weighs 36 grams! The vet called him, " robust " in appearance.

Get well Beth! Say hello to Casper! (and the rest). Glad Rosie is doing better after her serious accident!
( I have been putting the book about Bogie together and getting it ready for making an E-Book ) . My health is not doing so well, but I'll manage. I have some really bad days and it affects my writing sense.

I've been paying attention, since you asked this question. With Mango, he will step up with either foot, depending on which finger is offered (my right or left.) Kiwi is just too fast. I'm going to have to take video, and go back and watch. But, do you think the exact species matters? In other words... are parrotlets somehow, different on this topic than any other bird?

That is a good question! I have had a lot of budgies over my lifetime and almost every one stepped up using their right foot! It didn't matter if I offered my right or left hand finger.

I just noticed Ricochet climbing up a ladder. He started with his right foot every time. Hmmmm.....

Ask your vet whether his nails are shorter on one side next time you go, David! Maybe then you'll know for sure?
