You are not an outcast at all, LOL. A lot of our members feed pellets. I think your diet sounds good Bryan, but it is a good idea to feed fresh foods to them. The vitamins they get from fresh food is always better than artificial vitamin in pellets.

For the OP:
That said, it takes time. 4 months is not very old, I would not worry. It might help to try one thing for a while, so they start to recognize it instead of so many different things in a short period of time. I had luck at first with things that look like seeds. Try broccoli florets, bell pepper seeds, a little chia, cooked quinoa and wild rice... You could leave only water in the cage at night, and offer the chop first thing in the morning when they are most hungry. Leave it for 10 or 15 minutes see if they try it. You could sprinkle a few seeds on top to get them interested too.

I’m having a hard time with fresh things as well... it’s amazing how similar these little ones are to kids! I became a mama 45 years ago ... you’d think I’d have this all under control...nope! Because they are also like kids in that one day one thing works and the next day it doesn’t! Ahh but it sure keeps things interesting!

Thumbs up Tiny step!

Hello. Thank you very much for all your replies. Another week with mixed success for me. I have tried again all your sugestions, mixed food with seeds, mashed egg into, also peas and chicken, my birdies must be very intelligent, it was fun to observe how hard they tried to get around food to seeds, mess they do, throwing food out of tray, anything covered with "fresh" food. Then i had a small sucess, if it is, I don't know, I have served warm full corn on cob and they loved it! I was even afraid I over feed them as they ate small cob in half a day. I have also been a little cruel, and removed seeds at all, only served different type of food in small dishes, without luck, they didnt touch it. I also got mixed nuts and dry beans, again, no luck. The seeds I serve are Beaphar Xtra Vital Parakeet and Budgie Food, mixed with Beaphar Care plus + Pellet. After very lenghty resarch online which told be there are no specyfic parroltlets food available. I have bought my babies from Pets side, my partner drove to seller, as I said she asked him to stay outside, came out with birds in my cage, and no other information other she thinks one bord is male one is female. We called them Minty and Aqua because of colours. I will try to download photo. On website it said 4 months old birds, not tamed redy for loving home. I have also tried to follow steps how to tame them, with stick, noise, click, nothing works so far, they will not come out, when taken from cage, they do not bite, but they are not happy to come out of cage on their on, so I think long road ahad of me. I spend as many hours as I can with them, just sitting next to cage, talking, but they are still very shy. Once again thank you for all your replies
