Exclamation Have A Nice Memorial Day!

I want everybody to have a safe and wonderful day this Monday. In America, we set aside this day to honor the men and women who died while serving in our armed forces ( military).

There has never been a country like America to ever exist! This is the only country where a person can come here and be an American! We are not Chinese or Japanese or Russian or Canadian, etc. An American is made up of all nationalities in this world. I am an American and can not go to China and become Chinese. I can become a citizen, but not a Chinese person.

Our military service people gave up their lives for one reason or another, but mostly for the Freedom of others in this world.

God Bless them! God Bless all other military personnel in this world who fought for the Freedom and Rights for others!

I am proud to be a part of it all!

David, Vicki, Ricochet and in the Spirit of Bogie!

lindav posted something that I noticed when I and my friends over the years, have traveled all over the world has noticed.

We noticed just how many countries have tried and duplicated the American way of life. America isn't perfect, but all America wants to do is have a world where everyday people have a right to express a voice without a government stepping on their mouths. Our military service people have sacrificed their lives for all races to have this basic right!

My family on my father's side came here from Germany in the year 1690. We have their names on a ship's manifest as German citizens. They got off the ship and lived in a city called " Faulkner's Swamp" in Pennsylvania. It is now called the " Port of Philadelphia ".
The Millers have fought for this country in every war, starting with the Revolutionary War. Our blood has been spilled for this country. God Bless Us!

One day, I hope all the world will be at peace and we can go on and live the way we humans were meant to live! PRAY.

The Miller family

Red face

It's so interesting to me to hear about American holidays. We don't really have a memorial day in the same way as you do (we have remembrance day, Nov 11, but it's not the same type of celebration).
America's pride in their military is such an interesting concept to me. (This isn't a criticism, in case it sounds that way through text!). We just don't have the same type of pride in Canada I suppose (and England.. I'm originally from there, but now I am a proud Canadian too). I hope you all had a relaxing, fun, and peaceful Memorial day.

I am the child of a Korean war veteran who instilled a deep feeling of patriotism within me. I have great respect for our military and a great love for the USA in spite of its flaws.

I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend.

Everything is so touching! I truly love the whole world! I remember President Reagan, who got the Soviets to shut down their ruthless ways. We had a Summer Olympics opening ceremony where thousands of athletes from all over the world gathered in the center of a huge oval stadium. All the athletes held hands and swayed back and forth. President Reagan said, " If all the nations of the world would let the athletes run their countries, we would have peace throughout the world! "

I agree! They competed with each other and respected each other's differences!

WOULDN'T IT BE WONDERFUL?
