To all who responded to CAN A PARROTLET BE LEFT ALONE AT HOME?

Thank you everyone! I want to thank everyone who replied to my post. All of your input was very helpful. I actually decided to leave Kai at home and have my daughter Jen come by to care for him. We left on Thursday April 4th at 2:00 in the afternoon and arrived back home on Saturday at 2:00. My daughter Jen came by Thursday late afternoon and Friday morning and again late afternoon. She was planning on coming by again Saturday morning but since I knew we would be home by 2:00 I told her she didn’t have to. I am so pleased with the way Jen took care of Kai and when I got home was thrilled to see he was just as happy and contented as when I left. I am going to try to post two pictures of my daughter Jen enjoying Kai while I was away. Hopefully they will post. Thank you all again.

Glad to hear things went good.

I just took a trip for 7 days and sent Huey to the local bird store for the week. I dont have anyone to watch him for more than a day or two.

I didn't see your first post, but I am glad your daughter was available and things worked out well.

Give Jen a big hug from me and my wife! Kai is quite a guy!

Now you know you can go away for a few days and not worry!

I think this is an older post or something but i have seen it before and responded. I posted a topic in this section yesterday or the day before and it said it needed approved by a moderator and it still has not gone live yet.

It is kind of an unusual place to post these kinds of things too.

I thought of boarding Kai or sending him to my daughters but really didn’t want to uproot him. I was lucky that my daughter offered to come to my house to care for him. I’m sure boarding will work out nicely.

She’s an animal lover and I think Kai knows it because he naturally takes to her.

Thank you. I’ve taken the time to let Kai get to know members of the family right from the start. It was clear that he liked Jen right from the start. The two of them get along very well.
