Hey guys,
I know this must have come up in the past but I searched the forum and didn't find anything, SO--have any of you had issues with your birb eating your coveted house plants?
After 5 years of not touching them, Lambeau is suddenly very interested in all of my house plants. I just got back from out of town and he has chewed on many! I have no idea whether he chewed on any that were poisonous, but he is very alive so I suppose he didn't eat enough if so (I have some that have conflicting data about their toxicity). I'd obviously like to prevent this in the future though. For now I am keeping all my plants out of his reach, but since he is flighted and out 24/7 this is tough and I hope not to always have to hide them. I assume he got bored but I also leave town about once a month and have never had this problem so I'm not sure why the sudden interest.
So my question is, if your birds did become interested in your plants were you able to distract them by getting a big safe plant that is "theirs"? I am hoping to get a tree or something he will want to hang out on so he will leave the others alone. If yes, what kind of trees were a win?
Thanks everyone!
