Exclamation ~~~~Somethin Old...Something New....From Bogie! ~~~~

I have bee looking through some old boxes from my mother's estate. I found all the birthday, Mother's Day, Anniversary, etc. cards going back to 1971! These cards were from all my mother's family and friends. She kept them all! I was surprised because she would throw away my baseball cards, etc., that I would collect. I wish I had those cards now!

As I went through the cards and took them out of the envelopes, I noticed the cards that I had sent her all those years. Talking about emotional! They go back to 1971! She had every card I have her for every occasion.

BUT---I also found something that surprised the heck out of me! You see, I would hand make cards for her, but the cards that were hand made were from BOGIE! That's right. BOGIE!. Of course, I did the work, but I did it from Bogie's point of view. He called her, " Gran'Mama ". ( we tried to get him to say it, but he never would).

This weekend, I will try to get together with my wife and take some pics of Ricochet and some of the cards and send them to this forum. I have a smart phone, so I will figure out a way to send it to this forum.

Anyway, one card said, " Happy Bird-day to my Human Gran'Mama!! Love Bogie Miller 2009 " . At the bottom of the card it had a lift tab and under the tab, there was one of Bogie's flight feathers taped to the card. All the words were in different colors.

Another card was a Valentine's card. It had a poem and feather's attached. One sheet of paper he sent her said,

Bogie:
Pure Love...
Pure Laughter...
Pure Parrotlet!

I hand delivered these cards to her. She cried because it was so special.
I always aggravated my mother ( in a good way).
I found her a birthday card that said, " REMEMBER HOW I USED TO AGGRAVATE YOU ALL THE TIME? "
on the second page, it said,

"WELL, I'M ALMOST THROUGH! "

These cards are so special to me as they were to my mother.

She also kept every letter I wrote to her. Even Bogie wrote her letters and she kept them, too!

I miss my Mother so much. I am so glad I found these cards and letters.

David

Bryan will become famous soon enough

It is nice that you have those memories to look back on now and I would love to see some pictures of Ricochet.

Things from our children are precious to mamas. Especially homemade things. They are like little pieces of love right there in our hands. She sure loved you and Bogie!

WHEW! I just got on the forum. My computer crashed at 4 pm and ALL my Documents and Bookmarks disappeared! KAPUT! Thousands of them!

I had Vicki back up my files about 4 months ago. She backs them up usually every other month. In the last 4 months, I had 4 chapters (1-4) in the book written and about 100 bookmarks added to storage.

POOF! They are gone! NOT backed up! All that work for nothing! I learned a lesson, for sure!!!

BUT---Vicki called the anti-virus security company, McKafee (spelling? ), and they told her that something was not compatible with the newly installed security program. Vicki found the problemed program and eliminated it and POOF!, we got back all that was lost!

I AM ONE LUCKY MAN! What a kiss I gave Vicki!!!! Fine dining tomorrow, for sure!

Thumbs up

When Vicki said my laptop crashed and my files were gone ( especially the document folder where Bogie's final draft first 4 chapters were located), I got a sickening feeling in my stomach! I had to sit down!

Now, she is having a serious problem with our spare laptop. These new anti-virus programs are getting so complicated in design, that they are having trouble existing with other established programs in our computer. Vicki spent a huge part of her day working out the problems.

It's ridiculous!

My internet provider has a deal with Norton so we get free Norton AntiVirus to use as part of our internet package. It just does everything on its own in the background and seems very stable.

Norton is good. Thanks. I see the name Norton all over the place. It is well established.
