I've seen his treasure chest, colour sorting and darts. I must have another look.

He's totally nailed this part now though, time to go to the next step!

Herbie is doing so good you are great with him

I am not sure if Charlie is going to be learning to use that to go potty or what guess we will find out... (I am subscribed to her channel)

Edit: I noticed that Herbie's toe looks a little off is that just because of him walking on a flat surface? If not might want to have that looked at next time you see your vet.

Here are a few pictures of Pip's toes you can see how they are in line with his foot. If they show up good in this attachment..

Thanks Bryan. He just loves to play, he just gets on with it now, I don't have to encourage him anymore!

Yea his toes are a little off, the front left being the worst. The vet looked at them when I took him for his health check and he said that can happen very early on in the nest with humidity causing the skin to pull tight? He said it didn't look like they were causing him any pain, no redness or swelling, and he seems happy enough, if a little clumsy. I did ask if they'd straighten again with time, but he said no, and any attempts to straighten them may cause pain and not always be successful.

Thumbs up

Seems like you are doing okay with Herbie. Take your time. When I had a bunch of budgies at one time, I trained 4 of them to have a race. I lined them up on a log perch and tapped one on the back. He would run to a blue dumbbell, grab it and run back to the starting line. Then, I tapped the second one and he would run to a red dumbbell, grab it and run back to his starting spot. Number 3 and 4 did the same, with a green and yellow dumbbell. It took me 7 months to get them to do this without a hitch. They got a drop of grape water each for their reward.
I decided it wasn't worth training them to do tricks. They are real hyper!

When I got Bogie, it was a different story. Since he was a free bird and had the run of my home, I didn't want to spend much time teaching him tricks, but I did want him to learn colors and shapes, along with spelling his name and talking human. We accomplished what I set out to do.

But Bogie went a step further! He played practical jokes on me and my wife! He actually planned them. I wrote about a few in this forum, but you must read the book to see what a smart and crazy bird he was.

I love those p'letts!

Our new work in progress... Started this late this afternoon.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wdkqt5w8is...209_2.mp4?dl=0

After a few goes with this, I put his treasure chest and pennies on the table and let him play with those, he's created a new personal best speed record. Then I put the zig-zag back on the table to let him choose which to play with and he tried to mix it up and get his pennies on top of the tubes, was quite funny to watch him getting them jammed and pulling them out. Unfortunately whilst I was recording the TV was on and hubby would not stop chattering, didn't realise I was recording, so he says I can't show you that.
