Oliver's bird-day!

Oliver is 7 years old now. Still as nosy and very dear to me.

One problem-----Lately in the mornings he gets one darkened spot (fluid of some kind) by his right cere. The other side is normal. This area gets tiny feathers on and in his cere. The vet saw him twice.
First time she gave us an antibiotic for him to take for ten days. This worked for a while.
Second time seen the avian vet recommended a cream to put on the area with a q-tip to get the feathers out of the cere and up onto his head because it started up again. If I don't use anything during the day, it goes away on its own and looks more normal, like the other side.
Does anyone ever had this on bird where one side looks good and the other side is "wet"?

Hi! Happy Birthday to Oliver!!

I have never experienced this, so sorry I have no feedback, but I would be interested in seeing a picture if you have any?

My parakeet has some fungal issues on his beak after he damaged his beak some. Vet prescribed antifungal for 10 days, and there has been no recurrence since (4 years now). But your birds cere thing sounds quite different than that.

Wishing you and your bird the best of health!

I have not even heard of something like this.
Allergies maybe?

Happy 7th Hatch Day, Oliver! I hope you get extra treats and extra scritches today!

Regarding his cere, I was thinking the same thing as Ozzie - possibly allergies? Have you tried using an air purifier in his room? I wonder if that would help.
