Thumbs up ~~~ Vicki's Down! ~~~

This 4 day weekend is not turning out so good. It started out with a nice birthday gift to me, but at 3 am Saturday morning, Vicki got up and used the restroom. She said her back was bothering her and she had to sit on the toilet. I knew what it was....a kidney stone! I have had them before and I experienced a back ache at night, followed by the urge to eliminate urine.

Remember, she was rushed to the hospital a few months ago and they found that she was passing a kidney stone, and she did! They didn't catch the stone to determine what kind of stone it was, but it probably was calcium oxalate, the most common.

2020 is something else!

She stayed in bed all day and drank a lot of water, cranberry juice, etc. She had some pain, but not bad...yet! The stone had moved down towards the bladder. It is going to be a rough night. I set up the intercom so she can call me from anywhere in the house.

This year is terrible! I hope Vicki gets rest. Kidney stones are very painful. The last one she had, she told me that she never wanted to have another one again! She said it was worse than childbirth!

Pray....

Please tell Vicki that I hope she feel better! Kidney stones are no fun from what you said and I have heard from other people...

Thanks. She has been drinking like crazy. The stone has moved lower towards her bladder and when it moves, that is when the pain is at it's worst. Too bad doctor's offices are closed Labor Day. But, I will find a urologist for her ASAP.

Since she has lost 25 pounds this last 5 months due to her diet, I think it changed the chemical balance in her body and formed the stones.

Thanks! Vicki is not a water drinker, per say, but she is now! She drinks plenty of fluids, but nothing beats water to flush a person's kidney's out! I had several stone attacks years ago and it was not fun at all. The doctors had to do a " stone basket " operation to get the stuck stones out of me! Ouch! So, I tripled my water intake!

OMG I know how that hurts! I was told to drink cranberry juice. But REAL 100% cranberry juice not the kind that is popular (Like Ocean Spray) those are mixed with other juices to make them sweeter and more palatable to drink. They do not do anything. Real cranberry juice is really, really tart. But it worked for me! Used it a few times over the years. It is hard to find the real stuff in regular supermarkets too.
Wish her well for me with a quick and as pain free as possible healing.
