Bird bath

Hi everyone. I wonder if any others have had their parrotlets let them know they wanted a bath, and how they do it. Gracie has twice tried to get her wings wet in her silo waterer! Itís so funny to watcher trying to roll around on it! Isnít it neat how their little brains work?

Parrotlets do like to have the opportunity to choose to take a bath. My bird rarely bathes, but when he chooses to - he uses his water dish. He just decides when the time is right from him. You can offer a shallow dish with water or try bringing her over to a faucet with some running water and if she is interested. With budgies (parakeets), they love to roll around in wet leaves from greens.

Anya will become famous soon enough

Mines likes to take a bath every week or so, She may have used her water bowl to take a bath, but I've never seen it, or found evidence that she has.

Because she knows the word "bath", all I have to do is ask her if she wants one - she'll fly on my shoulder all excited. I love the way she lifts up her wings when she bathes, it reminds me of a little bat. So cute.

We have a table top fountain that Jules perches on and baths in.
Before we did that she used to let us know by jumping into glasses of water we were pouring. It got so on Saturdays I would sprinkle water on her for her bath, she would dance on our shoulders when we had water to and drop her wings. The fountain is easier.

I have a large plastic tumbler that I put and will offer pip a sip while Iím drinking my coffee in the morning. Every week or so he hops onto the ri. And proceeds to take his bath. He drops his wings in and dips in his butt. It is really really cute. And then he has to hop on me and proceed to dry his face on whatever Iím wearing.
