I miss Tobie.

Sometimes I accidentally fill up 5 food bowls. I can't get used to saying I have only 4 birds. My mom is visiting and he was her favorite so she's missing him. I miss his singing. When I go through my phone I see all his little photos. I just miss my little Tobie.

Pateetchka is on a distinguished road

I'm so sorry I understand how deep the loss can feel. I grieved my Pateetchka for years and on a very real level. They are our friends and family. Doesn't matter that they are not human.

Thumbs up

I am so sorry that we humans hurt so much in times like these. Bogie's passing hurt me to the core. Tobie gave you great memories and he is surely missed.

Thanks guys. I know I'm not alone. Unfortunately many of us have lost one, it's so hard to adjust to them suddenly not being there.

I like to think they take a bit of our soul when they pass. That is why it hurts so much for so long. But it allows them to find us on the other side of the Rainbow bridge. We lost Bo years ago. We only had him a brief time. Still we think of him. Still it hurts. Still there are tears.

So true. Can I ask what happened to Bo? I'm sure you have said but I forget. How long did you have him before he passed?

We had him about 6 months. His previous abuse and maybe genetics caused issues that got progressively worse. at first he had issues perching every so often. At the end he was just fluttering around the bottom of the cage and we had to put him down.
