~~~Fun Things You Can Do With Your Parrotlet!~~~
I was just browsing though all kinds of places and ran across some ideas about the games some people play with their parrot birds at home.
Here's a few games you can try!
I) You can make necklace out of fishing line or yarn or cotton string. On this necklace you can string blueberries or raspberries or you can have the new Popcorn NutriBerries or regular non-seasoned white popcorn. Any kind of berries can be used, but make sure you have a bib of some sort to keep yourself clean. Sit at the kitchen table and let your bird climb all over your chest! My Bogie used to go into my pockets to get popcorn or other treats. I never thought about making a necklace!
II) Your P'lett like to chew or rip up paper? Then twist a long piece of paper ( towel? ) in your collar and make it into a destructible bib for your bird to chew or destroy.
III) Make a paper bracelet by twisting the ends of a rolled up piece of pliable paper ( towel or napkins).
IV) Make yourself a climbing gym! Hold out your p'letts ladder or sisal rope and let him/her climb up and down on it. I use a hand towel. I twist it up and let Ricochet climb on it . I change the angle on it to make it more challenging for him. He loves it!
V) Turn on your computer and bring up You Tube to see videos of parrotlets or other birds having fun, fun, fun! Koolaid is Ricochet's favorite plett to view.
VI) Get out an old puzzle that you do not need anymore and show your bird how the pieces come apart. You make it what I call a reverse puzzle. Let them chew on the piece if you want. I found that a 3-5 year old's puzzle is a good puzzle to take apart. Bogie loved to work at destroying the pieces.
Try some of these games. If you have some games to add to this thread, please do so!
