Ha Ha! I FOUND Squirtles currency!

I just found the PERFECT bribe!

Squirtles appears to LOVE almonds - he (literally) trips over his feet in his hurry to get to it! The supermarket had a packet of ever so fine organic "flaked almonds", so I got a pack. (no added salt - just almond)

I had him on my big bed and from one corner (I was at the head) I had a flake of almond. He was ignoring me ... and THEN he saw it. He tripped over himself twice which was funny, the little clown that he is! His feet were a tad caught up in the bedding, I think - but dang it looked funny. Soft landing so no hurt!

Thumbs up

Both of my pletts loved almonds! They ate almonds every morning! You can set a good bond if you hand feed Squirtles an almond. Both vets I used said it was good for them.

How funny! Hey, if almonds are like birdie crack to Squirtles, then definitely use it to your advantage! It seems like a lot of birds love them. Mine doesn't. She flings them back at me. No, Little Miss Picky Pants only likes cashews and walnuts.

Dave

Yes - I'm not going to leave any in Squirtles food bowls, that's for sure - if he wants his almond fix, he can only get it from me ... and he has to "do" something to get the click to get his fix

Congrats, finding that one treat they will risk much for is a long way to unlocking your bird. With Jules it was walnuts. She has come a long way for walnuts. Sadly I have yet to find it for Rio. His biggest thrill seems to be chewing my finger and ears off.

My pleasure! You have given me a few good laughs as well, so THANK YOU! Ozzie, you have too, so THANK YOU also. I remembered another nut that Cleopatra loves - pistachios!

Ozzie, your poor ears! I may have a solution to the problem you are having with Rio! Check these out. Yellow may be your best choice.

I know it is a sign of a bad comedian who laughs at her own jokes but I thought it was pretty funny too!

I came across something today that I wanted to ask you about - Have you heard of Kakariki parakeets? They are from New Zealand and I read that they are becoming increasing popular as pet birds. I was just wondering if they have them in Australia. What beautiful smart and funny birds they are. I love the noises they make and the way they talk. I want one! I had never heard of them before!

This is a video of a beautiful Kakariki.

Isnít it amazing how something so small can render us helpless at times? We cannot get back at them the way they get back at us!
