Male or Female, what do you think?

Hello everyone! So I am hoping some of you who are well versed in sexing Parrotlets can help me with this one. I have a 7 week old American White (the mother is American White). As this P'let grows, I notice a change in coloration. I used to notice a lot of gray but now there is quite a bit of coloring on the wings. I thought this P'let is a female but now I am unsure. I was told males are supposed to have blue that resembles more of a purple or violet shade (when sexing an American White). Clearly this bird does not but when I compared it to its mother (Also American White), I noticed its mother had very very little color to her wings (same color shade). I then compared it to a female sibling (also American White) from a completely different clutch (same exact parent pairing). This sibling has only gray and white and NO other coloring on its wings. I am usually good at sexing my Parrotlets but I am on the fence about this one because out of 3 of my American Whites, this one has the most coloring....and not as "white"....its just not a dark or violet blue shade....

Note: I totally forgot to inspect under the wings to see if there is any coloring. I know sometimes you need to inspect under the wings, depending on the mutation. That's on my to do list tomorrow.

I would say you have a pretty girl. I don't see any dark blue wing tips on the 'shoulders.'

I agree that it is a female. I have a white pied male, and he has a darker blue on his "shoulders" and on the flight feathers. It is not as dark though as the blue typically found on most mutations for males though.

Thumbs up

I read an article on American Whites about 5-6 months ago. It was a well written article and I usually save articles. I can't find the article, but from what I read and the many pics I saw, it looks like a female, to me. I was hoping to see a picture of your whole bird. They are so beautiful !

Update*

Thank you for all of your replies! Its crazy how this little "birb" of mines can look rather colorful compared to her mom and sister. Thank you for confirming for me. I can typically determine the sex early but this one really made me question myself! Heres some pics of her. She is approaching 8 weeks old. Her mother and sister are much much MUCH "whiter" compared to her and besides looking a bit different she has a very sweet demeanor... unlike her youngest brother....who tried biting my finger with intent tonight. Lets just say socializing that tiny terror has proven to be very eventful.
