Hello Linda, hope I have a correct reply, new at this but not with Parrotlets. When Sam Sam was young Star and him had some battles. One there was blood drawn. We kept them apart and or watched them like hawks if they were out together. Then Stars mate died. Was like Sammy watch her mourning and felt really bad. After awhile Sammy and Star never fought. Then Sammy started feeding Star. Long story short, they became inseparable. They started being in the same cage grooming each other and feeding each other. They had become mates. And stayed that way till they past away. To begin with they were in a cage side by side for a long time. Of course Sammy bossed the male Budgies around. He was the flock boss. No mistake about that. So, if possible I would get a male Parrotlet if they Budgie is female and vice versa. Not saying they will be best mates but Parrotlets can be very bossy. All the best.

thanks Linda :) our transplant is end of September, we will be in Tucson near the hospital and I will come home before him. I'm hoping the two weeks to a month without hubby around will help me earn some points with Melody.

Oh boy, even at night she is so high strung. She's doing pretty good this morning, a ball of energy but not really biting. I'm being very easy going with her trying not to ask much. She crawled around on me making a ton of noise wile I made my coffee and flew between her cage and me a couple times. She yelled at a paper towel and after some coaxing went into her cage where she is now squacking up a storm and banging her toys around. Lol
Oh! And the other day when it was time to wake her up, didn't see her at first and then realized her head was sticking out of the slinky!!
She really loves scritches and will usually take them any time of day but she's been too rambunctious to want them. Usually if I just hold my finger above or behind her head she fluffs her head up and then I scritch. If her Feathers stay down I know she dosent care. Hopefully she can take out some aggression on the toys this morning and calm down later! :D

You are lucky to have a husband that helps you. My husband would never have the bird near him----he's fearful. I feel lucky to have Ollie at all. I keeps us more apart, but I need to nuture! don't want a dog or cat, I love birds.

    Thank You Linda :)
She certainly is adorable, and an aggressive hormonal mess!! and I just love her to pieces. Im thankful that my husband loves her too because week both know how important it is to keep handling her. We love her too much not to anyway. Lol at least we share the abuse! We take her out for multiple short amounts of time and then go "here, you take her!" I know she is feeling cranky. I'm sorry Ollie is too! but it does make me feel better to know its normal. I did the towel a couple times the first stage we went through like this, but she's too smart she knows its coming and I just hate her running from me like I'm a big mean lady with evil dish cloth. I have been offering a palm more often because there seems to be less flesh to bite. Lol.. It sure helps to be reminded by everyone it will pass!

Hi, I've been off for months. My pastel blue female, Skye started bathing in my drinking water glass; she'd climb down my arm and help herself to a nice warm bath while we sat in the sun. But if you provide a big enough water tray, she/he will eventually just bath and play in the water. With great sadness I gave my Skye to a new home, where they have kids, dogs, cats and even a pot belly pig. Skye was very bored as I work 9 hr days and always would be in our Rabbit's cage when ever she escaped. But, she was too nasty not to have clipped and would constantly attack my husband and follow but not be nice, to my daughter. I have 2 Cockatiels now from 7 wks of age, a Grey and a Lutino Yellow, Jax and Opie.

Tnx, Chilli arrived on the 27th Dec and is an angel, he has just started flying to me with the help of millet. He loves tickles and likes to sit and snuggle. He's far less noisy than my budgie or the teil I had years ago. He is a little kamikaze flier. He still refuses anything other than seed, been trying little by little every day with smashed up dried parrot food and sunflower seeds in pieces. Fruits are a no no too, suppose I just keep trying?

Hi Linda. Some folks don't pay attention to the green p'lets because they are the natural color and common. I think they are beautiful! Happy 2014 from me and Timmy.

Hi Sister! Yup! I would think so. Bonnie does a lot of "clucking" when bags rattle, it set her off.

My sweet blue pied p'let is constantly chattering. Why? I talk with her in the kitchen, go to her cage & talk, but she seems to like to chatter. Just got her Thurs. Is that her nature?
