I would say one in a cage is fine. Just make sure to spend time with the one, my vet said at least 30 min every day. Otherwise, if you get another one, they're more likely to bond to each other and not you or your daughter.

Pickle has always been fine on his own, he comes out in the morning when we clean him out, and then for an hour or two in the evening, and he has lots of toys to keep him entertained through out the day.
if you had two they would bond to each other and be less interested in playing with your or your daughter |

exactly, i brought home two 5 week old parrotlets the other day, one for me and one for my cousin...b4 i knew it tho they were bonding, constantly preening and cuddling lol this was in a 3 day period! i quickly seperated them and the male went to my cousins house so as to avoid them bonding to eachother and not me or my cousin...when i take my female Bella to go play with the male Rokko she still ignores me and they will cuddle and fly around following one another! and dont worry about ur parrotlet getting lonely, as long as you play with him everyday, when ur not home theyre curious minds will find something to keep them entertained
