a good day out for the Britts, or if youre ever in the UK

Just wondering if any ones ever herd of this palce before, but i went there this summer just gone and had an amazing time so i just thougt it was worth telling you about.

http://www.tropicalbirdland.co.uk/

it was such a good day! they have a small park area where they let the birds fly free (no netting over head, they can fly FREE) they also have some birds in aviaries.
the only sad part is that they have a whole aviary full of african greys that people have donated because they are unable to look after them for one reason or another
but other than that (and in good old english style it rained for most of the day) it was an amazing day out.
i'm going back again this summer once i'm finnished with uni for the year.

also - not one parrotlett! the closest we got was one grumpy quaker who was trying to steal a little boys ice cream. we need more parrotletts in the UK

heres some pics;

these guys were so cute! they foloowed me round for ages asking for kisses and then had a go at making a right royal mess of my hair!

thats my mum

Just fantastic! Thanks for sharing......I just wonder since they fly free what keeps them from going far away? (like to warmer climates during the winter?) What kind of birds are those in the second photo? They look so comical-it's like they're wearing old man's golfing outfits!!!

i dont know to be honest, apparantly they sometimes fly off to some of the local villages.
i think its cause theyre so bonded with all the staff, and they probably bring them in at night.
when we went, there was one other cockatoos sat on a sign being really grumpy, it wouldnt let any one touch it, but on out way out, we saw one of the waitressess come out of the cafe and pick it up like a baby!

haha i know they look like theyre all wearing little shorts or something, theyre black headed caiques, theyre so sweet
