Parrotlet Color Genetic Question

Hello,
This is my first post but I really am hoping someone can help me figure this out.

I am buying a Blue male from a breeder to pair with my American white female.

I do not know my female's background but she is an American white, but my male's Mother is a Blue & his Father is a American white, they have had 2 Albinos in their breeding history, one of which is in the same clutch as my new baby...How did that happen & is it possible to get any Albino chicks if my pair choose to breed?

from my understanding you would have to have both pairs split to albino. now what you may get with your babies is Blue and American white. Also from my understanding American white aka Dilute-Blue is resseive and comes from reg blue. so that pairing is not a good pairing. I know what would be a good pairing would be a visual Green with Dilute-Blue split and same for your blue male. But an ok pairing would be like a Dilute(American yellow) with Dilute-blue and blue splits then you could get Dilute-Blue that way and for your Reg blue you would want another breeder not of the same color with the Albino split in the geans.

Pleas correct me if I am wrong since I am still understanding the genetic ways : )

Why is it not a good idea to breed two Blues together in Parrotlets?
Does this go for all mutations (no same color pairs) or just Blues?
(I know alot about Poultry genetics, but am next to clueless when it comes to Parrotlets)

Also I just wanted to add I am not "planning" to breed them, however I am open to them breeding if that's what they plan on doing, either way I am okay with whatever happens, I have raised many other types of chicks before both alone & co-parenting, these are just my first Parrotlets though.

Just want to be more informed if they do breed, plus I know sometimes Albinos need more care then the normal chicks...but mostly I was just curious.

it's not good to breed two mutation colors of any color like Dilut and Dilute, blue to blue. So yes pretty much you can't breed any color to that same color. Except for Pied and Dark factor since they are Dominit. you can also breed green to green because that is the natural color of p'lets. When you breed two of the same colors togeather you are weeking the genitics and the babies. for example: babies could die at an early age or die in the egg due to not having strong genitics.

The main reason for not breeding same color to same color (other than green) in p'lets is because the gene pool is very small. This means the odds are very high that the birds are closely related, close enough to cause all sorts of problems with the babies.
