Other than being a slave to the fids does anyone have any hobbies? I cut portraits on my scrollsaw. I am currently working on an order of 150 Keystone ornaments. I got 60 done this morning and hope to get a few more done tonite. I want to get this order done so I can get back to cutting the portraits I have orders for.

I'd say my main hobby is making websites. I have a few running currently. I also like to bowl. They're not really hobbies, but I also like to read and listen to music.

That bike riding is quite a hobby. You'll have to figure out how to strap a carseat on there lol. Do you know what you are having? Here is an example of my pictures.

hi linda,

wow, that is such a cool hobby - i love your scrollsaw portraits! do you have a website? how do you transfer the images?

it looks like we are having a baby girl but we do have names for a boy or a girl, just in case. i'm getting pretty anxious as i'm due in two weeks

No I dont have a website. I print the patterns on my printer and glue them to the wood with a temporary adhesive.
Good thing you have names ready for both. My grandson who is 18 months was a girl up until he was born! We had everything pink! We had lots of exchanging to do. Even had to run to store to get him something blue to come home in.

I was poking around the site to see if there were any threads that I haven't seen.

This is a fun one!

I wonder how pjtadsp's baby is doing considering she was due two weeks after she last posted in this thread!

Anyone else care to share???

I love everyone's responses!

Well, since I revived this thread, I guess I'd better chip in.

I have a thing for creating companies and running things - this sucks up most of my time but can be a lot of fun.

I'm addicted to ebay (my wife will be thrilled with this comment as admitting an addiction is the first step to a cure) - you really can find any piece of old junk that ever existed on there :D . I put together a dinner service of dinnerware made in New Jersey!

I like tinkering with old cars (I think most males of our species do this). I have a thing for foreign GT cars. Here is a shot, from a few years ago, of me Christmas tree shopping with one of my old bombs:

This is a fun shot from when a group of us took over Times Square in NYC:
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n10/Suckewer/330intimessquareel2reduced.jpg

And then, of course, I play with little green birds!

Love hearing about the hobbies. Memmey, I have TONS of plants. No indigo right now. My space is smaller than that takes I think. My mother's huge flower bed has it and it really spreds at her house.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/Sally11/ovalbow.jpg

I'm a music student at university... I play cello classically and in a rock quartet. Along with Louie (Louie Piccolo Naughtybird is his full name), I have two girl doves (I thought they were boys until they each laid two eggs, and their names were Skipper and Gilligan), tentatively named Buckwheat and Bess. I'm starting up a cello studio, do lots of music stuff...

I also have a pretty intense creative drive and make stuff constantly! I do jewelry out of gold and silver, some metalsmithing, work with cello strings... I am also in the process of building a large indoor aviary for my doves.

My housemates and I are into organic gardening, so I dabble in that too :)

I used to be into painting...

omg those are beutifull doves! I had some hand tame white ring necks. but they went to a bigger flock, an enthusiast wanted to add their bloodline to his breeding program so off the went.
I miss their gentle nature and company. but not the cooing due to too many males and not enough girls.

My old roommate plays the cello, good at it to. I really enjoy the music.
good luck with the studio. I know how hard it is to get started. our art studio in the house is just getting started as well, what an ordeal.

Memmey and kukishin- thanks! I keep myself ridiculously busy most days ;)

The doves are wonderful...they do bicker about who gets to sit on the nest (they're both girls, and just laid 2 eggs apiece), and who gets to eat when, but they're great!

p.s. yes, the squirrels are waltzing ;)

Volkswagen, Honda, Nissan/Infiniti. I have restored two Volkswagens, 72 squareback, 73 super beetle. Still waiting for the super beetle to get back from being painted.

I have a 96 honda civic that I would either like to supercharge or do an engine swap in the future. We just got an 04' infiniti g35. We're not going to do a whole lot to it, just some bolt-ons. Intake, spacer, maybe a few other things.

Neat stuff Dae,

I used to have a VW Westfalia campervan - it was the most fun drive (read scary) under the speedlimit! I needed a bigger challange so, I've now moved on to old Italian cars.

I'm taking a similar apprach to your Infinity with a second series M3 I'm building up for my wife. I'm still waiting for her to come home with her first speeding ticket  :D :D .

My own scope. It's a 10 inch reflector, good for looking at planets, galaxies, clusters, nebulae. It's fun and the kids enjoy it as well. My younger daughter was doing a school project in Jupiter, she had fun actually seeing it, the red spot, and Jupiter's four large moons.

Looks like there's some other gear heads on here. I'm a big fan of customizing the Japanese cars, although I like to do it clean, not stick an ugly unpainted body kit and a loud exhaust on it. Right now I mostly work on my Acura Integra, I made my own custom turbo system for it and imported the front half of a Japanese Integra (they look different there), everything on the car I've installed/built myself (turbo manifold, exhaust, front end conversion, tuning) except the paint. I also do a lot of work on a friend's Nissan 300Z.

Aside from cars I also play guitar, skateboard, snowboard, and play disc golf. I used to play piano too but I had a snowboarding accident and now my left hand doesn't work well enough.

The hood is black due to shipping damages, I told the painter to leave it alone because it was cheaper to buy a new one, but he fixed it and painted it black for free because he didn't want to put a really bad hood on such a nice car! :)
