I planned to bring Lily into the shower with me today and sit her up on the far end of my shower away from the water on this rack that she could comfortably stand on and walk around on and just get misted. I was standing in the shower and watching her and she was going crazy like stretching out up and down and preparing to make a jump. I got close to her and talked to her and then moved back and she flew onto my hair, right into the stream of water. (i had the pressure on very low, just in case).

I had a dry wash cloth for her and towel drive her a little bit, but she is still wet. I have a little heater a few feet away from her cage on warm.

Also, I am a new bird owner and the way birds look when they are wet is not in anything that I have ever read. There are a lot of bald spots that I can only notice when she is wet. Is that because she hasn't gotten some feathers in yet because of her age or because she is plucking herself or some completely other reason?

Also, totally unrelated, but does anyone know a good place online to get foraging toys for smaller type birds like the parrotlet?

Thank you and sorry for being so newb, I am just trying to do the best I can and really need to ask questions.

She actually looks dry right now, but I know that can't be possible.

Now, with my old bird, Daisy (yellow lutino cockatiel) she died right after I put her in the shower. She had blood poisoing when i was 10yrs old. The humidty from the warm water snapped the candle stick.

If you are giong to put her in with you... you are going to have to endure sort of cold water. I am jsut saying this because I have a phobia of bathing pet birds.

Just dont bath in hot water... if your mirrors i nteh bathroom are fogging up, it is too hot.... meaning it is probaly hard to breathe for your bird's little body.

Just giving you a quick warning.;)

She is very young. Just mist her with bottled water for now. Just a couple of sprays. When she gets older she can bath herself in a nice little "tub." Chipper loves her baths. I also run water on her back in the kitchen, coolish water, not too cold or warm.

Maybe you can show a photo of her.

You can order a coconut swing, Chipper loves to swing and eat there. Her tiki hut also. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/Sally11/PICT0663400.jpg
