what are hazards in making parrotlet toys?

Are there any hazards that I should be aware of before I start making toys for my parrotlet? I just want to make sure anything I make for him is safe.
I already know that lead, dyed boxes, paint, treated wood, metal and stuff is a hazard to them. But I want to make sure I'm not missing any information.
And are rubber bands safe for them?

I would say, buy on sites that have bird save materials :)
