Okay, so I've seen many posts on this forum - and all over google - about people making their own "tents" for their birds to sleep in at night time. Honestly, I don't know if Lola will ever use it, because she doesn't have one now, but I'm so tempted to make one because I've seen everyone elses and well..time goes by too slow when you don't have something productive to do. Hehe.
I'll post pictures when I'm done. Warning - it's going to be kind of small..she's a tiny bird though so I don't think she'll mind tooo much. :D

My Conure has two sleeping tents, one for her sleeping cage and one for her daytime cage. She plays and naps in the daytime tent.
My P'let has a teeny weeny sleeping tent -- she won't go near the thing!

Haha, I'm not sure if she will but i'm adding a little feature thing - toy rings fastened / sewn on , underneath, so even if she doesnt use it.. i can still hang a couple toys from it, at least. :D

Rookieblue, have you thought of making a "snuggle ring." Just search Snuggle Ring Instructions on this forum. I made one myself and Coconut loves it. That's where he sleeps every night. They're inexpensive, easy to make (no sewing necessary) -- and oh, so easy to clean.

That would be an option! Perhaps once I acquire some material, I'll whip one up for Lola as well. The sleeper tent Lola came with is currently sitting on my desk, with a couple of her tail feathers that have fallen out since she got here. (One was due to flying into the wall, and another fell out randomly. No more have fallen out since - so I'm not really concerned.) I plan on making a scrapbook with pictures of her and some writing about her goals she's achieved since she got here. I'd like to make two, and send one to the lady at the sanctuary, so she can see how far Lola has come. Perhaps when I bring it in to her, I'll bring Lola along with me, and she can actually see Lola. I would prefer, however, to wait until it is a time when I can actually reach into her cage and pick her up, rather than waiting for her to come out on her own. She's getting there, the gold cup is closer and closer every day.

Yep, she'll get the gold cup! I'm sure of it.

Let us know when you get your tent done and how easy or difficult it was to do (can you tell I am thinking of making one too..but I'll let you go first ;) lol).
You and Lola are doing awesome!!

Haha! I may actually make something a littttlee teensy different. Or just make two different things, the snuggle ring, and then one similar to what you can buy in a store: a perch with a simple piece of cloth only cupped around one side. This way she isn't completely "closed in" but she's still in a "safe zone"...if she even likes it :P

Rookie, did you ever make your tent? Would be interested in seeing pictures, as I am thinking about making a tent for my bird, but am unsure of what to use to make if firm. I guess I could use interfacing, but I'm just not sure if that'll be stable enough. I need it to be washable so a light cardboard wouldn't do.

Cricket had a tent, but I took it out. She never slept in it - when she had her crazy night-time run around she'd usually run through it and crawl over it but never used it other than that. I might try putting it back in when I re arrange her cage again.

I haven't, yet. I am going to make one soon - I have an old pair of fleece pjs that have a huge hole in them .. :D
I am going to do one with a wooden dowel and a cover over the back, I think. She had a sleeping tent she came with and didn't like it, I think because it was too enclosed. I'll be making it really soon and I'll update this thread with pics when I'm done and tell you how I made it. ;)
