Sorry, you guys haven't seen me in a while.

I was wondering since Kiwi is NOW hitting his molting stage. It has been about 1-2 weeks.

I thought he was in his molting stage a while back... but I was soooo wrong!

He won't even let me give him pets or rubs... I think he doesn't want anyone touching his pin feathers.

When will it end?

Also

Some say that Chedder or Cottage cheese is godo for a parrotlet during molting because there is a lot of protein in it. Is this true? I gave Kiwi a little nibble of cubed cheese because that is said on a care sheet I was reading on. It was just a pinch.

AND with beans... will Navy beans work. How do you cook beans?

My kiwi went through a big molt about 4 months ago and I made certain that she had plenty of rest. One of the meals that I offered her was scrambled eggs with some lentils and split peas mixed through. the method I used to cook the beans is you pour hot water over the beans, boil for 2 minutes, take of heat, cover and let sit for 1 hour. I only do a tiny batch. I also give her a small dose of benebac which helps during stressful times. Hope this helps..good luck!
