Unsure about coloring...

Hi, i Have twinkie who I was told by the wonderful folks on this site is a pacific with a bit of lucinda influance. So i had my boy out this afternoon and i noticed he looks a little more gray on his back. And yesterday i really noticed a bunch of pin feathers in his head and neck. He is only 2 and a half months old. No loss of feathers other than i seen him, while preening, pull out a tiny fluffy down feather. It was only one and i don't see any others in the bottom of the cage. Could he be moulting?

Can you post a pic? If it's his outer feathers looking grey, that's normal for a Lucida - that's one way we can tell the difference between that subspecies and the nominate. If you're seeing grey downy feathers though, that could be a problem.

No the one he pulled out was a tiny fluffy thing. I will try to get a pic and then post in the correct spot. I thought it was weird just because he was looking more dusty gray than usual.
