I gave genie a bath last night and she got quite wet, as I was drying her, I noticed there is a large bare spot on her chest. I can't tell if she is plucking? She is pretty young still about 4 months, do they have patchy places when they are little? If she is plucking wouldn't I see lots of little feathers all over the place? I am worried now, and of course I couldn't get a picture of it...grr!!! THanks for any help!

My guys have a natural bald strip/patch on their chest... you really only see it when wet or when I blow raspberries on their bellies:) When dry, if the feathers lay over this area very nicely, you probably don't have to worry. Though pictures will help.

With birds, they have what are called feather tracks. An animal like a dog or a cat has fur quite literally COVERING their body, but birds aren't the same.
Here's a picture of where the feather tracks, which are the areas where the feathers grow from, are located:

As Jinx said, pictures would help to make sure, but it's probably nothing to worry about. :)

I have never noticed this on Bodie. He dries off naturally.
