Okay I bought a container of Beak appetit: nuts for alfredo. It contains pasta, oats, millet, wheat, almonds, peppers, celery, tomatoes potatoes, and carrots. I'm thinking of using this as part of the daily diet if he likes it. I'll still provide a 1T of seed, a container of pellet w/ dried peas and peppers. I figure I'll put the seed and pellets in during the day, and at night I'll put some in along with his normal carrots, brocolli, and fruits when I come home at night.

I plan on freezing the container and using a lit bit each day. What do you all think? Do you all think i should add anything else to his diet? This is what I'm feeding him along with one of my quakers. My other quaker is afraid of EVERYTHING and I'm having trouble getting her to eat new things.

Do you all think it would be cheaper to make it from scratch?

I think its quite a good idea!
you should try to make it from scratch (it would be a lot cheaper, right?)
and see if your P'let likes it, or if he/she prefers the store one, or doesn't like it at all.

Btw, where did you buy the Beak Apetit?

I bought it from my local petco, they know me really well. I'm normally there every week or every other week. They like me and sometimes I get free stuff or a discount ;)

Sounds like a good menu to me. Its very similar to what I offer, the only other thing I offer daily is the Birdie Bread - I feed Beak Appetit every night - Its what I make them when I get home from work and they eat it outside their cage - I leave it out until they go to bed at 7pm. I make only a portion of the box in the microwave and divide it into containers for three or four days. I add a drop of water to the container daily and heat it in the microwave and let it cool and serve.

They are eating the Nuts for Alfredo now but its their least favorite although they still eat it - but I can tell by how they pick through it looking for something tasty :D

I have them separated out into smaller containers and I am freezing them. Each container should be enough to last about 3 days. . .

Do you think the birdie bread would be a good thing to add?

I probably should make the whole batch and just freeze it too - I think the birdie bread is a great addition to their diet - mine love it, especially the female.

I buy all of the flavors online and the ones they have at Petco. Chipper loves them. I just put a bit in a mug and microwave enough for the day. Quick and yummy. I also make whole oats and she loves that.

well I gave him his food last night, and when I removed the container... it was all GONE . I'm suprised he could move! It wasn't even at the bottom of the cage. I can't believe he ate all that, but I can't find it. He's on his swing this morning look at me like "Hi. Want to play? I know I do."

He's like my mother. Tiny and able to pack the food away like there was no tomorrow. My little glutton

today i got his pink out of his drawer. He has now associated the pink cup with his favorite treats. From the kitchen, which is all the way across the house (house is 2000 square feet), I could hear him chirping madly! It was this constant chirp and flapping.

As soon as I put it in his cage, he went straight for it. I'm so happy~ he's becoming such a good little eater. I also mixed in a few chunks of brocolli, carrots, and cauliflower. Maybe he'll eat those instead of playing with it.

Yes, adding the good veggies to it is a great way to get him to try things. Glad he likes the B. Appetit. Chipper loves all of the flavors. I love to buy them online. More flavors than Petco carries. Oatmeal is also an easy favorite to make. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/Sally11/41059eyes_closed_eat_300.jpg
