All right everyone, it's time for me to get a (preferably) small, indoor tree with plenty of branches for Navi to play in. My question is: what type would you recommend? I don't even know where to start.
What types of trees/plants do you guys have in your bird rooms? If any?

I don't have any trees - I never know what's "OK" for him...I have a play gym for Cosmo.

I have tons of play gyms and play stands, a climbing net, a huge spiral "boing" made for big birds, but works very well for my P'let and my Conure. All kinds of stuff to climb on and play on. But I don't have any trees, either live or artificial. These guys chew on EVERYTHING -- both are very curious, so I'd rather stick to play stands, climbing nets, etc. Sorry I can't help!

Hmmm, I already have a playgym. Maybe I should invest in a big boing. But I'm still curious!

Even if you find a "safe" tree for the birds.. you need to worry about pesticides and such if bought from a plant nursery... I have never heard or organic ornamental house trees.

Me neither, but I've never thought about it so good point. I should definitely make sure it's organic then.

I have a hibiscus tree... My guys won't even go near it. I tried putting them on it, no go. Hibiscus is supposed to be bird safe. Otherwise, I have a manzanita branch (pretty large) mounted on a piece of wood that my guys love.
I also have other plants in the room with them, but the birds seem to avoid them. I have to watch the birds around them anyway to make sure that they're not getting into the soil or the water runoff under the pot... you have to worry about fertilizers in the soil/water too... so I guess it's a good thing that my guys in general stay away from the plants...

I have 2 ficus trees that my bird really enjoys. I dont know how expensive they are though. Probably 100 bucks or so?

I thought ficus trees were poisionous to birds? I am looking for one for my patio and this would be perfect if it's safe, because I already have one of the front porch!

The ficus trees are the edible fig I think, not the kind most people have for houseplants.

I found this list of "safe" plants and trees... I have always heard fiddle leaf fig and rubber tree ficus are toxic but they are on this safe list... so I dunno...lol
