View Full Version : Hurt Foot???

I noticed yesterday that Cabo has been favoring his left foot over his right. Whenever he's just standing around, he's always on one foot. And it's not like he curls the foot up as if he's resting it or sleeping, he just picks it up. He's still doing it today, even moreso (or maybe I'm just looking for it) but when I had him on my finger he felt like his weight was shifted to one side. He wouldn't even stand on my finger on both feet. He has been playing with his toys and climbing around his cage but much less than normal. I noticed it yesterday too but I thought maybe he was tired. I don't know what to do! He has a vet appt monday anyway but I'm so worried about him! I don't recall him taking any major spills. His wings are clipped but he does try to fly anyway. Help :( any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Since you're going in on Monday anyway I'd be tempted just to keep a close eye on him over the weekend. Lower his perches or move him to a smaller cage in case he falls and try to keep him warm, and just keep an eye on it as long as he is still eating and drinking and not fluffed up or sleeping all the time.

Good you already have an appt. for Monday. I hope Cabo will be just fine. Maybe he treaked it a bit climbing around.

I hope things are alright. Make sure to check all his toys and perches (especially any of the rope ones) to make sure that he didn't get his foot potentially caught in anything.

Oh no, I can only imagine how sickening to see your baby hurt. Hope hes back to his normal self soon. Take care!

Update: we went to the vet today and she checked out his foot and said its fine. He seems to be doing much better today so maybe he landed on it funny last week. Thanks everyone!! and yes, it just breaks my heart to see my baby hurt
