Hello all! I'm new here but I need help deciding on which cage I should buy or if anyone has any suggestions. I have 2 parrolets and 2 lovebirds that are currently housed separately in very generously large cages but I just moved into a smaller apartment that only has space for one cage. Could you please advise me on which cage I should get? On cage #2, would the dividers and ladders be beneficial to them or should I go with cage #1 where the space is more open? FYI, I do keep their wings clipped. Should I keep the lovebirds on top and parrotlets on bottom, or vice versa? As far as getting the them the light they need, unfortunately my apartment gets no sunlight at all from its location so I would have to use a full spectrum light anyhow. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have no idea who should go on top and who on bottom.. I personally like the 1st cage better.. It has more over all room for flight. As far as the wing clipping goes it all depends on you , your birds and your apartment whether you should keep them clipped or not. If you can provide a safe flighted environment or not would be my deciding factor on that ... along with how easy it would be to catch them and put them back in the cage if need be... good luck on all your decisions.

I also like the first one.. And I don't really think it matters who you put where both cages look like they will provide plenty of space for your little guys. Good luck

Are these birds same sex or will you be creating breeding pairs by housing them together? I like cage#1 best.

Thank you for your responses. My lovebirds are both DNA'd males, I've had them for 8 years now and they are best buds. My parrotlets are male and female but they don't breed, I've had them for 6 years and Mochi had laid one egg a few years ago but never did it again. I don't plan on breeding them, I just want them to be happy and safe in their new cage. I'm leaning more to cage #1 then, and just decorate it really nice for them.

I agree, cage #1. It has more room for toys!! You wouldn't want them to get bored..,Oh, and welcome to the forum...

I have an A&E flight and had looked at the double one you posted a while back
when I still had the two birds. So I agree on number one as well

I think either one is fine. The second one is just a bit smaller (by a couple of inches). I had the cage (single flight cage, not the double stacker) that had the shelving and loved it. The ladders, I never used... they were too thin for the birds to perch on. I loved the shelves, which are movable because then I had platforms that I can put stuff on, like a ceramic dish for bathing, food bowls, etc. The shelves kind of just sit on the bars, it's not bolted on or anything, so I liked the weight of the ceramic dish on it to hold it down; not that it moved when the birds were in the cage. Otherwise, when I didn't need the shelves, I just took them out.

Right now, I have the king cage double stacker and love it too:) But because I love the shelving so much, I had to buy the corner platforms that bolt on (I couldn't find the ones that sit on there and i couldn't use the old ones because the sizing was off) so that my guys can still have their bathing/water dishes and food dishes and some toys sit on it.

As for who should be on top... it doesn't matter. All the birds want to be on top. So whoever is most aggressive should be on top (so probably the p'lets) because I find with my p'lets when the cage doors are all open, the ones on the bottom go to the top cage to investigate that cage and Jinx, who lives on top, never goes to the bottom cage to investigate.

Thanks for your responses. Here's a pic of my parrotlets. I can't find a pic of my lovebirds for some reason, guess its time to take more pictures.
