Daisy escaped again! I zip tied all possible doors that could open. But, I think she was poking her head out the top, so she must have gotten out that way. The bad thing is for the 2nd time in a row she escaped death by kitty! MY son found her just about to be pounced on. I'm getting worried about Daisy's safety. Is there a parrotlet proof cage out there that I should know about? Baby Daisy loves her mommy so much that she is searching for ways out to find me!

Oh my! What a smartie pants! I don't know of a P'let proof cage, but perhaps someone more knowledgable on here can help with that.

Good luck!

maybe padlocks or combination locks or barbed wire or maybe some kind of high tech infra red security system! LOL! you have a little houdini!! I don't mean to be disrespectful as I realize it distressing but there must be a way to secure any escape route. I baby sat a ringneck that was like that. he could squeeze thru any space the width of a piece if paper. I'm not sure what the owner did to prevent it tho- it was many years ago.....

we dont have this problem with the parrotlets but the amazon we had years ago used to be able to bust through almost anything we put on his door..eventually we had to get some big padlocks

whats the bar spacing like on daisy's cage?

We had the opposite problem! Buddy never tries to escape from his cage, but my younger brother insists on taking him out without checking whether any windows are open or not, and we have had quite a few near-escapes . So we bought some of these key ring charm holders and have put them on every door of Buddy's cage. They are really handy since now my brother doesn't bother going near the cage! Also, they are nickel-plated which is safe for birds. These are the ones which I ordered...the little tassle bit on the end really helps to hold while screwing it to close :)

Problem is that it doesn't really get rid of the issue of her escaping from the top.

Not sure if there is such a thing as a parrotlet proof cage but maybe others would know :)

Do her feed doors slide up?? That may be an area of escape if so. Maybe set up a camera recording her and leave the room to see what she does....you may catch her on film trying to escape and know how she does it.
