Here you go Riley! I moved your post and started a new thread for you under "Parrotlet Health".

To start a new thread, just go to the main heading "Talk Parrotlets Forum", scroll down and pick the sub-forum that fits your topic -- in this case, Parrotlet Health (I assumed you're wanting to know which air fresheners are safe with your birds?).
Once you pick your sub-forum, a new page will open up, and part way down on the page, on the left side, you'll see a button "New Thread" -- looks just like the one that says "Post Reply". Then all you do is type in your comments and hit "post".

Hope this helps! PM me if not!

The short answer is NEVER use air fresheners around your birds. Even essential oils can hurt them. Do not use negative ion generators, either.

To clean the air either open a window (protecting birds from the cold air, of course; or get an air cleaner that has a thick charcoal filter in it as well as a HEPA filter.

We just recently had a thread about a similar topic that explains why air fresheners shouldn't be used, and lots of members had some great suggestions for safe alternatives:

Oh thanks so much guys for the help. I knew not to use the air freshners or a candle but thought surly they must be something out there to use to make your house smell good. Maybe orange peels or something. lol Just a thought. I am going to go look at that thread that was posted. I have a big sunroom and i open a window to get fresh air in so that isn't a problem with clean fresh air. I was just thinking in the winter because i used to be a big candle person until i got Riley. I also have a maltese dog, anyway no more candles so thanks again and i am going to go read that thread.
