water in droppings??

So my new little guy was sitting on my shoulder and he pooped, but along with it out came a little liquid...the rest was normal....he just had some big drinks of water 10 to 15 mins ago....is this normal at all??? ive been keeping an eye on his poop and its been normal....help please!!

ive only owned budies...but it seemed like more water than normal...like it formed a small bead on my sweatshirt....it may be that it was just wierd because it was on clothes rather than paper....altho ive never noticed it before...

also, i did some research and there is something called 'polyuria' which sounds very close by the description....it said it can be caused by a number of things but change of diet could be one of them....i have indeed changed his diet...so maybe thats it.....he ha none of the other symptoms....heseating alot....VERY active....ill just keep an eye on it and if there are any more developments or it continues ill take him to the vet

just an update:his poo has been fine since....so i think hes ok....like i said...he shows absolutely no signs of illness...but i will keep a close eye on him

I was worried about Noel doing that, but she seems fine and it happened more when we first got her , so I put it too the stress of a new home..I never saw my tiels do that, I have been wondering is it is a P'let thing..thanks for that question.

Mine drinks a lot of water during his bath... he poops a lot of water after his bath...lol. It is normal.. It is how they pee.

Ours too - after drinking. Also, sometimes it's more noticeable depending on where they go. Some surfaces wick the liquid away so you don't see it, while others allow it to bead up, making it look like there's more there. :)

thanks guys!! It just shocked me cuz my budgies never do anything like that! Also, I was always under the impression that the pee was all mixed in to the feces....so this certainly puts my mind at ease!

haha! My girlfriend was laughing at me cuz last night i told her to make sure she told me when he went...so I could look at it...she did and I came over and got real close and looked and i was like "oh yea....that looks good" and she just thought that was sooo funny....Which after looking back on it I did too. But to be a good bird owner you have to keep an eye on the droppings, its often a good indicator of sickness, which is why it worried me!

If he just had big drinks 10-15 min. ago then I would say he is fine. Bodie does that too. Sometimes after a good soaking bath he has more water in his droppings.
