So, Zach has a viral infection (took him to the vet yesterday) and the doc told me to try to keep the cage warmer than room temp (he said around 85 degrees). I was wondering if anyone has done this before. What are the best ways to go about keeping him warm and on the road to recovery? I have the birdy meds to give him for 10 days but what else should I be doing?

I don't have any advice but I hope he gets to feeling better.

Tink and I had the same problem a while back. I cranked up the heat, moved her to the warmest room in the house, kept the windows closed, told my boyfriend to stop complaining it's too hot and wore shorts and a tshirt...
This worked until the heater stopped working... Then, after letting out manager know, I took out one of my back heating pads, put in the microwave for 1 minute, wrapped a towel around it and spent two days snuggling my sick chicken on the couch (reheating the pad when I needed to). I wrapped her cage in an extra blanket at night.
I hope your little one recovers quickly! Hugs!

From the different forums I have heard that to keep the bird warmer you should place a heating pad on lowest setting on the cage. But make sure Zach cannot get to it. Also cover cage.
