It seems my little Kirby has started plucking. At first I thought he was molting, but I don't see any feathers on the bottom of the cage. He is preening himself ALL the time, but other than that, he is a very happy p'let. He sings his little heart out and loves swinging around and his appetite hasn't changed at all. I've attached some pictures (sorry for the poor quality, he's not fond of me taking pictures of him w my cell phone) to get your opinions. I don't know if I should take him to the vet (it's about 40 mins away and I can't really afford to spend hundreds of dollars on treatment) or just continue to do what I'm doing and keep him as happy as possible. Any thoughts would be a appreciated!

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and best wishes for the new year!!

Be sure to keep your humidity up. This time of year is SO bad for dryness. Good luck!

Take him to the vet. You need to rule out diet/health reasons first. Also, is that his cage behind him in the picture? How big is it? It looks very small from the picture.
