For the last month Sprout has been losing feathers. It seems like forever. Somewhere I read it only lasts two weeks. I have an avian lamp with full spectrum bulbs for the birds. It has been very dreary/rainy/cold so I can't get them outside.

I don't think I've had a bird this year that molted for only 2 weeks this year.... seems like they're taking months. Jinx just finished molting. Last month, Noodle finished... Indi is still going, though slower than before. Sometimes I think they're done, I see a fresh pile of feathers...

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. Zazu has seemed to be molting for quite a long time also. I think he is done now finally though. I think our weather has been so crazy here maybe that has something to do with it, is that possible?

I definitely think weather has a lot to do with it. Their poor bodies have no idea what to do, LOL
I am in Southern California. One day it is in the 80's, bright and sunny, the very next day, it is cloudy and really cold.
We are in late November. Today is Thanksgiving, and it is expected to be mid 80's!

We are having some wierd weather here in Minnesota also. So far we are having many days above normal like in the high 50's when normally we are in the 30's. One good thing with Sprout he has not been really crabby.
Happy Thanksgiving

He started molting in august a few weeks after I got him, he's still molting, but it looks like it's speeding up. I'm woried though because I just noticed a bald spot (which I can only see when he's wet) but I see pin weather so I'm hoping he's not pluking.
