Hi, I'm looking to buy a cage now and a parrotlet in the next couple months here and want your guys and gals opinion on this cage http://www.windycityparrot.com/page/Windycityparrot/PROD/specials/19302242001
Also is this a good place to buy from? Any other suggestions please let me know. Thanks everybody
Lucky,
That size is fine! It's the same size as Sally's. Actually, it's probobly made in the same Chinese factory (best way to know is when you order it, the assembly directions will be one small picture ;) ). The only unusual feature is the double doors - I'm not sure what their function is.
Regards,
Art S.

This cage in question is good. We carry a similar one that I wanted to offer you, but it would cost a bit more. So, if you want to spend a bit more but suppor the start up of our non-profit, let me know! ;)
This is actually the one that Sally has:

Sally's is a nicer quality cage, although the first mentioned one is adequate b/c parrotlets are not rough on their cages like the larger species.

My cage is 34" high, a bit taller that that flight cage from Windy City I clicked on. I order from Windy City all the time. Nice people. I got my Featherbrite light there also! They help if you need something too.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/Sally11/cagebywindowPICT0615.jpg

What is the advantages of a Featherbrite light? The Windy city site didn't give much info.
Thanks Linda

Read the info on the lites on this page (you have to click on the bulb link) It is a different brand of light, but it is the one my avian veterinarian, Dr. Burkett recommends.

Here is a site with info. I only use mine for about two or three hours a day. Not all day. Chipper likes it. http://www.thebirdbrain.com/html/lighting.cfm

A customer of mine sees some fear issues in her parrotlet, nothing major but every now and then he has a little issue. Our vet recommended, for many reasons, that she start using full spectrum lighting. Since it helps them see things in full color it will help boost confidence.
