So an update to my previous post. Shortly after my post I noticed my sofie had a swollen back, and was having trouble walking. When out she kept hiding in shoes and drawers, also her droppings became extremely large. Seeing that egg laying was eminent I made her a little box in her cage, and within about an hour she had laid an egg in there. She now has two eggs laid and is "pregnant" with the third. I have shaken both eggs, to prevent fertilization. Also I have started following the posts about breeder nutrition.
Anyway How long do you leave the eggs with them? A month, two?

One observation, They still mate throughout this whole process. Even when sofie is swollen with an egg! Also Wyatt the boy looks so bored when she is sitting on the eggs all day.

She probably will lose interest in the eggs after three or four weeks, and abandon them. Then you can remove them. Remember she needs more Calcium now while she's laying. Cuttlebone is one source, and the following foods contain good amounts of Calcium: green, leafy vegetables, especially collard, mustard, turnip and dandelion greens and kale, cooked legumes, broccoli, orange. Pellets also provide Calcium.

Hope all goes well.

She should get bored of sitting on them after about 4- 5 weeks.
Sky's last batch of eggs all had dead babies in them, i removed them after 4 weeks and she did not seem to bothered by it. now she is laying eggs again 3 upto now and yes i agree with you, Scooby is also looking quite bored while sky sits on the eggs all day.

Thanks guys. I have upped the amount of calcium foods I give them. She won't touch her cuttle bone or the other flavored calcium block thing I bought them. But I bought some calcium/vitamin supplement to put in their water. The whole thing is so fascinating it like living in the life of birds tv show!

Be careful with vitamins in the water if you are giving any other fortified (synthetic vitamins added) food, such as pellet or fortified seed mix. Too much of the fat soluble vitamins can lead to vitamin toxicosis. I much prefer to make sure my birds get a varied, nutritious diet with plenty of fresh foods than to feed vitamins.

I have had cases in the past with lovies not touching water when it had vitamins in it and since parrotlets drink so ,little water anyway also make sure to keep a eye that she is in fact drinking it

I feed a fresh egg food when laying and feeding
I make it with hard boiled eggs and i grate cuttle bone in it and chope up veggies very fine and feed 2 tablespoons leave it in a hour take out and toss in trash I add it every 3 hours when they are feeding i add in once in morning once in late afternoon when just laying.
I also leave a dry Egg food mixed with Petemine and cuttle crushed in it that is in all cage all the time.

I think they look so adorable when they are "eggnant" and waddling around :D
Good Luck.

I had no Idea that they waddled around when they are "eggnant" it was super cute. Thankfully all the eggs are laid. No egg binding. Also wyatt the boy has always been a very good eater. He'll eat anything I give him, and since he is feeding sophie this whole time, I know she's getting the right nutrients.
