This is a question that occured to me the other day when I was hearing about the fires outside LA. My GF and I are going to move to LA in a little under a year and I was wondering what kind of negative impacts the air quality has up there on birds, and is it dangerous?

We'd probably keep our windows closed and we run an air purifier but I'm wondering if that would be enough. Especially with all the smoke that must be in the air over there, and how frequently there are fires in California.

Anything know about that? Is it deadly to small birds like Plets?

we had some fires a while ago here in Santa Cruz and and a few other people on this forum and I were worried about the very smokey air and our birds. I did keep the windows shut, ran the air purifier and also a light fan and made sure to bathe my little guys every day. The smoke made me very sick but my birds seemed absolutely normal, they didn't have any problems with it at all. I think you should be fine, it sounds like you're well prepared. LA isn't smokey and smoggy alll the time, just during that season. : )

I'm glad that it shouldn't be a problem :D.

I went to school for an acting degree and I want to try my hand at maybe breaking into the business and trying to do something with my degree, that's why I am moving to LA.
