YESSS, I'm a miracle :D (sorry for being so unmodest, but I'm a gremlin when it comes to computers and stuff, so I'm being very proud just now  )

Very cute! I don't see any bare spots, where she picked her feathers, in those pictures. She looks very similar to my girl MeMe.

Wow what a cutie!! The pictures turned out lovely! :)

Wow Pado that is really observant, I didn't even notice the painting the first time through. Yeah those are senegals I believe.

I had a Senegal - I actually noticed the Senegal in the picture first :D

Yes Pado, those paintings are made after 2 pictures of my former Senegal. She isn't with us anymore since one year now and I missed her so terribly painful I decided to paint her on the spot her cage used to stand. Maybe a bit soft, but I loved that bird!
The pain of not having her around anymore has been lessened by Bibi although she isn't as tame and close to me as our Sennie was.
Instead Bibi is very close to our 11 year old son who was always a bit afraid of the Senegal, so Bibi is doing a great job there!
And it is absolutely wonderful to see that every bird has its own charm and caracter.
You are quite a Sherlock Holmes to have noticed the picture by the way :)!

And Arts, I looked at the pictures again and you're right, hardly anything plucked to see :p
But it is possible that the pictures where taken in 'better times': I mean, the crazy bird seems to pluck to a certain stage and then wait till most feathers have grown back, and as soon as she sees the hope in my eyes that everything was just a whim of hers => yes, exactly, she pulls them out again.
But she never goes as far your male (as far as I saw the pictures).

Marjet,

My male has now plucked a few patches off of my female  .

Art - sounds like Sparky might need a trip to the freezer to see the frozen 'plucked' chicken - SCARED STRAIGHT ! :D

Marjet – that was a really nice touch in memory of your Senegal :)

I know what you mean, I miss my girl also – she’s been gone now about two years – I still have her cage, I haven’t been able to part with it yet – I get close at times as I know it would make some other parrot a nice home but still I keep holding onto it :(

Pado,

Actually, that's rather prophetic. I found out that Sparky decided to fly into a mirror today - he definately didn't feel good afterwards. The silly boy has lived with that mirror for eight years without serious problems  . Hopefully we won't have to put him in the freezer in the morning.

Actually, it wasn't meant to be funny. My wife was worried sick. Fortunately, he's fine this morning - still as crazy as ever.

I've always suspected that Sparky has a very hard head, now I have proof ;) .

Oh poor Sparky – I’m glad he’s okay – you’re lucky he has a hard head :p

I’ve often wondered about birds flying into mirrors – you’d think they’d see the ‘other’ bird flying right at them and steer out of the way –

.... and you're right, I think its about time to update my profile - I'm just lazy :o :D

Hi Marjet, great looking bird!

I'm just learning, but I would have guessed that with the blue feathers behind the eyes, that this was a boy. Do girls sometimes have this same feather pattern?

marjet

Well, she is a bit blue colored behind her eyes, isn't she? I always thought it is normal coloring for a lady... She hasn't got the blue feathering on her wings though, and she isn't as 'hotheaded/hardheaded' as Sparky seems to be (that's a joke Arts :o and no hitting Memmey => I only dáre to make the joke because I read that Sparky is fine!)
